Happy Spring! Spring arrived March 20th this year. Let us all take care of the earth and immerse ourselves in nature’s splendor. What an awesome time of year. Here are a few signs of springtime –

  • The birds are singing
  • The weather is a little less cold
  • The natural world revives and reinvigorates after the colder winter months
  • Dormant plants begin to grow again
  • New seedlings sprout out of the ground
  • Hibernating animals awake
  • It is a wonderful time to go outside and safely enjoy nature

Parents/Teachers/Homeschoolers: Sketch/color an illustration. Theme: springtime. Listen to the exciting audiobook story called “Jeremy Fisher” in Learning to Read: Fairy Tale Adventures. What was Jeremy Fisher’s first adventure? Describe what his friends thought about his fish stories. Write about what you already know about the animals that live in or near lakes and ponds. Put these words in alphabetical order: frog, fish, water, animal, robin, minnows, alligator. List three facts about springtime. Talk about one of your favorite animals that live in the water. (Skills: identify, comprehend, apply, application, appreciation, listening skills, creativity)
