Those mouth-watering French fries originated in Belgium or France (disputed). They are also called chips, finger chips, fries, frites, hot chips, or steak fries. More fascinating facts about French Fries – 

  • The main ingredients are potatoes and oil
  • Other popular variations include curly fries, shoestring fries, sweet potato fries and chili cheese fries
  • French fries are served with salt, ketchup, mayonnaise, vinegar, or barbeque sauce
  • Most French fries are produced from frozen potatoes
  • All age groups love French fries
  • Restaurants such as McDonald’s, Arby’s and others are giving away free fries on July 13th
