Who Am I?

I am today best known for the poem, “April showers bring May flowers! That is what they say!” Who Am I? I wrote A Hundredth Good Pointes of Husbandrie, a long poem in rhyming couplets recording the country year.  I was born in 1524 and died on May 3, 1580.

My book of poems was among the best selling poetry books of the Elizabethan age. My work was first printed in London in 1557 and was frequently reprinted. My publisher, Tussel, published an enlarged version in 1573. I enjoyed my life as an English farmer, musician, and poet.
