VOTE – Primary Election

Share now

Remember to vote in your state primary election in 2020. A primary election is when voters show support for their favorite candidates and issues for an upcoming election.

Tips for teaching your child about the voting process:

  • Model the behavior. Show your child the location where you will be voting. Take something age appropriate to keep your child busy if they wait with you in line.
  • Talk about the issues. Discuss an issue that is especially important to you and why.
  • Polls open. Find out when the polls open and close. Recheck to make sure where you are supposed to vote.
  • Freedoms. Talk about the freedoms each prospective candidate supports.

Homeschoolers: draw/color an illustration and write why you think voting is important.
