What is “Palm Sunday”? Palm Sunday marks Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem before his arrest on Holy Thursday and crucifixion on Good Friday. It always occurs on the Sunday before Easter. Many Christians worldwide carry palm leaves in processions today to commemorate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on a donkey. Nearly 2,000 years ago faithful followers came out to greet Him. They covered His path with palm leaves, flowering branches, and cloth. As He approached, they shouted, “Blessed be the King” and “Hosanna.
