Devotional – Come to God

Share now

Jesus calls us to come unto him, to place our burdens, our sorrows, and our sins, at his feet, and find peace. A yoke is a burden, trial or hard thing we are going through. A physical yoke is a long piece of wood tied across the necks of two animals such as oxen, in order to make them walk close together when they are pulling a plow. God will help you with what you are going through. Let’s walk together with God. Here is how God will help you:

  • When you pray to God you will feel the spirit of peace. You will feel the spirit of heaven. You will feel heavenly peace.
  • When you read the Bible you will see how others have been helped by God. You will find hope in seeing how they were lifted through their burdens.
  • As you talk with God you will feel God’s love for you. This love will help you know that you are not alone. God is your friend.
  • As you give thanks to God you will find strength.

Matthew 11:28-30 (New Testament)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
