Why not teach your homeschooler how to talk like a pirate? Crazy, huh!?! Well, we have to keep each one of them interested in learning, so let’s make it fun too! Yes, there is something called “International Talk Like A Pirate Day”. It happens every September 19th. Ahoy!

Why not increase your child’s pirate vocabulary with the following words: ahoy, avast, aye, arrr, beauty, bilge rat, hornpipe, lubber, treasure chest, sea legs, and smarty. Assign your child to look up the word definitions from the International Talk Like a Pirate Day link here or use a favorite dictionary. Then the fun begins. Ask your child to write a short fictional story using the vocabulary words and create an illustration to boot! This will definitely spark creativity!
