Absolutely free artwork just for your pleasure! And it’s from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It’s a comprehensive collection of work that entails 5,000 years of art spanning all cultures and time periods.  The best news is that New York City’s world famous Metropolitan Museum of Art just recently announced that 375,000 of its pieces in the public domain are now available without restrictions.It includes a wide range of movements, styles, and mediums, and span iconic paintings by Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh to centuries-old costumes, armor and more.

So, all of you artistic souls out there and would-be artists, take advantage of this free artwork to download and admire.

Special Note to Homeschoolers: Assign your child to download at least one piece of art by Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, etc. Then complete the following:

  1. List the title of the work with a brief description of the content.
  2. When and where was the work done?
  3. Describe the Medium.
  4. What attracted you to the work?
